Un-fecking-lutely fabulous!! The lads did it. What a glorious night! Cesc scoring the 1st brilliant goal on 84th minute - truth be told, it took me a couple of seconds before I started celebrating the goal. Thought it went behind the net. lol.

Every player stood out, played their role superbly. On came Theo for Eboue. The lad did not fall down easily on a challenge, instead stood up quickly and crossed the perfect ball for Big Ade to slot it in... and BANG... we were 2-0 up!

Granted, Milan are old and tired (which they are) while we are the young and fresh team (which we are), but they gave quite a good fight though Kaka has been pretty much quiet throughout. Inzaghi was a much better threat than him.

We have now beaten both the Milan team at San Siro - remember 1-5 against Inter??

Roll on the quarter-final....!!!

Not only Arsenal is by far the greatest team the world has ever seen, we are also a team with BIG HEART. The lads and the gaffer have gone out to make a very special ad for the Autism Society with slogan of Be a Gooner, Be a Giver.

In acknowledging this gesture by the team, Arsenal Singapore will be holding a special event on Jan 11 for the same course. Details will be provided later.

At the mean time, lads and lassies, enjoy the clip!!!

Blog EntryTop of the LeagueSep 16, '07 2:13 AM
for everyone

"We are Top of the League, We are Top of the League....." or so we sang!! The jealous ones would rebutt by insisting that "It's still too early....", not saying you're wrong... you're right indeed BUT who cares huh? We are still Top of the League this week with a game in hand against Moan United and Chelscum! and nothing will take it away from me! Yes.. Exhilarating football at the weekend!!

Arsenal visited the White Shite Lane for a showdown with our most bitter rival, Tottenham Hotspurs (known as the Spuds from here on!) and went down pretty quickly by a nicely-taken freekick (credit is due I supposed) by an 18 year old, Bale which rounded the Arsenal wall of 4-men and curled in and passed Almunia to put them ahead. Yep, Spuds 1 - 0 Gunners. We were totally stumped!

Bale, the youngest player on the pitch celebrating his goal against the Gunners

This young Arsenal team never stopped trying and they created one penetrative move after another. Latching on to an inch-perfect pass from Cesc Fabregas, Adebayor rose well and nodded the ball into the net, finally getting his deserved goal. The entire place roared!!!

Well taken headed goal by Big Ade

Arsenal continued to press on. At 80th minute, finally a fruitful effort from Rosicky, delivering the ball to Cesc who took it in his stride and struck it passed Robinson. Once again, Buckley Mansion roared for the second time that night!

Cesc celebrating his goal that put Arsenal ahead of the Spuds!

The night was far from over! At 90th minute, a brilliant pass from Cesc to Adebayor saw him lifting the ball, turning and blasting the volley home! A corner of White Shite Lane roared! Buckley Mansion roared again... People were jumping up and down, hi-five-ing and hugging each other.

Robinson could not save that beauty volley!

We were ecstatic that we were lost for words! We were shouting so much that some lost their voice! That was how crazy we were for beating the Spuds at their bloody home ground. And so we sang "One Nil and you F%^&*ed it Up!!" (again! Remember Fulham? LOL). Three points in the bag... What a storming second-half comeback! Job well-done lads!

The Arsenal Singapore celebrating the winning goal!!

Magnificent display and resilience from the lads! Never Give Up!!

The disappointed Spuds fans walking away (Price-LESS!!)

We were all the guest scorers for the night (a little too dark though!)

With Liverpool and Chelsea drawing blanks against Portsmouth (they could have easily won the game! Pompey not Pool!) and Blackburn respectively, and Man United snatching a "lucky" goal against Everton late into the game, this is how the table looks like at the moment:

Pos. Team P W D L F A GD Pts
1 Arsenal 5 4 1 0 10 4 6 13
2 Liverpool 5 3 2 0 11 2 9 11
3 Man Utd 6 3 2 1 4 2 2 11
4 Chelsea 6 3 2 1 7 6 1 11

And this is how I want the season to end, in exact order..... : )

Have a great weekend guys!

Ps: Many thanks to Al for his place. Hope no complaints from your neighbours!

Blog EntryWell Rounded WeekendsSep 2, '07 5:45 PM
for everyone
Before I start writing anything, please allow me to LMAO......... at Chelsea and Spurs!

Ok, now now.. considering it is half past 5am and I have work in three hour's time (and am tired!), will only be using pictures to re-cap the weekends. Hey, pictures do tell a thousand words!

Scoreline: Arsenal 3 - 1 Portsmouth (My prediction was ALMOST spot on! except for a clean sheet!)

Adebayor converting the penalty (won by Robin van Persie as he was brought down by St. James!) to make it 1 - 0 at the 8th minute.

Fabregas scoring a scrappy goal at 35th minute which we wouldn't get by last season!

Senderos was shown a straight red at 49th minute after a clipping on Nwanko Kanu. It was just a clipping!! Nothing malicious or intentional at all! "The referee's a w*ank*r"

The boys celebrating a great great goal by Super Tom Rosicky (potential goal of the season!) at the 59th minute.

Liverpool - the biggest winner - scoring 6 goals passed Derby (of course, it is only Derby!!!). Honestly, they are a bigger threat at the moment.

Louis Saha scoring the winner at Old Trafford. They were bloody lucky I must add!

While I was telling a friend that Chelsea's lady luck will stop smiling at them, I did not know that it came true! Aston Villa scored 2 to win the game and stop the unbeaten run of Chelsea.

Fulham... snatching a bloody win from Spuds! LMAO!!!!!!

Blog EntryArsenal 1 - 0 Man CitehAug 27, '07 2:24 PM
for everyone
Citeh came to Emirates with a 100% record and a hope to hold on to the unbeaten run. Have to admit that their performance was no fluke. They did play a great football and they have a string of great players in Richard Dunne, Micah Richards, Casper Schmeichel and of course Dietmar Hamann.

The Gunners, while not having the best performance of the game, fought real hard. Wondered why Adebayor started the game. Bendtner would have been my preferred choice to start. Senderos suffered from ankle-injury during the warm-up so up came Gilberto to the rescue as centre-back. Few minutes into the game, accidental clash saw Flamini rammed into Sagna and the latter was taken out of the game and replaced by Denilson.

67th minute and Arsenal was awarded a penalty but saved by Schmeichel from Robin van Persie. In the midst of it, the referee failed to see the wave from the linesman suggesting for the penalty to be re-taken as the keeper appeared to be out of his line!

Robin van Persie taking the penalty

80th minute and the ball was fed to Hleb on the right before he slipped a pass to Fabregas, who smashed into the roof of the net at the near post. Superb goal from Cesc Fabregas! Power shot! Pretty similar to the one scored by Robin van Persie in the Emirates Cup.

Cesc celebrating after that superb goal!

Delighted to see us winning a game we might not always have won in last season.

How did the other big teams fare this week?

Lampard scored as Chelsea went on to win 1 - 0 over Portsmouth

Veronin scored Liverpool's 2nd goal after Sissoko

Nani scored the winning goal for Man Yoo (Finally a win for them!). Obviously I was hoping for a draw to begin with, but as always with Spurs, couldn't be relied upon.

All in all, I am a happy Gooner girl! With Friends!

The Arsenal team attempt the crossbar challenge for telefoot.

It is funny! And nice to see the Gunners behind the scene. Willy Gallas does seem interacting a lot with the boys, maybe that's why he's our skipper? Almunia seems to be everyone's favourite! lol.

Wondered where was my Robin... Hmmmm....

Cool. Enjoy!

Blog EntryWhat a howler!Aug 19, '07 5:04 PM
for everyone

Having had time to calm down, this is my view of the game.

A 1-1 draw away to Blackburn is not a bad result. It's a shame we never won - no way did we deserve to win. Cesc handball on the line and they had more chances than us especially on the second half. We got a fair result today but yeah, if not for Mad Jens' dreadful error in 72nd minute - he just let the ball squeezed through his hands and up into the corner of the net! - we could have won. Wenger, as we saw a couple of years back, was not scared to drop Jens. After two horrendous howler in two consecutive EPL match, well he should be dropped NOW before he costs us more points. What an utter twat! (I never called names on any Arsenal player but yeah, I am pissed!!!)

What a howler!!

Meanwhile, on the other side of the goalpost, Brad Friedel was at fault as well as he failed to deal with Eduardo's shot and the ball squirmed away and we scored from it on the 18th minute. Scrappy goal by Robin van Persie but a goal is still a goal.

Robin van Persie scoring from a scramble goalpost action

Celebrating the goal

The real positive of this game was how our boys were able to stand up to yet more physical, thuggish play by Blackburn and gave as good as they got. Our boys were kicked and bruised all over the park. Robbie Savage is a horrible thug. He clattered Van Persie, Eduardo, Fabregas and went down like a little girl clutching his face when Flamini jumped into him! It was embarrassing as the only part of the Flamsters body that made contact was his arse!

Same old Savage, always cheating!!!

On another EPL news, Man Yoo lost to a good City goal. Svennish has not let a goal in yet in 3 victories while Man Yoo was currently having a relegation form (2 draws and 1 lost). Even the Spuds had a better 3 opening games. lol.

Way to go Geovanni!

Liverpool should have beaten Chelski. Chelksi were crap and got a joke of a penalty for a 1-1 (thanks to Rob Styles!). Yet again, Chelski managed to escape with murder (and I am getting real sick of it!)

Lovely goal by Torres

All in all, none of the top 4 Clubs were having a great weekend footie. So the Premiership is wide open. Who would have thought Man City will be sitting pretty on top after three games on? Who would have thought that Svennish will be top in England? lol. But as many would agree, they won't last. At least, till the Arsenal boys take over.

Blog EntrySparta Prague 0 - 2 Arsenal and more to comeAug 16, '07 4:48 AM
for everyone

Midweek European football is back! Back with a BIG bang!

Had to do it the old school way - listening via online audio feed provided by the BBC Radio. Lying on the bed with earpiece on at ungodly hours, painfully listening and trying to imagine the game but heck, I couldn't even imagine how the goals were scored. ha ha!

Perseverance is the keyword last night. The boys did not have their best game, added with rough challenges, bad tackles thrown at our boys. But they did not let us down. They fought till the end and it was paid off with goals coming in from Fabregas (72' min) and Hleb (90' min)!

Cesc celebrating the goals

Hleb doing his magic

Couldn't think of a better words to describe how overjoyed I was this early morning. With 2 crucial away goals, the qualification is as good as being sealed. Next game will be at home in a fortnight. AW may want to start with Bendtner up front and Denilson in the middle. This is to save van Persie and Fabregas from further "doing" from the Sparta Prague players.

I am so very proud with the boys. Well done lads! Come on you Gunners!

Another european news, Liverpool got away with an away goal courtesy of Voronin against Toulouse. But the Reds had to pay the price with Gerrard who is now injured with ankle injury.

Other good news, Man Yoo were held to a 1 - 1 draw with Portsmouth and C.Ronaldo was shown a straight red-card for his violent conduct. Hoping many more suspensions will come his way upon investigation.

Chelsea... as always, got away with murder yet again 2 -1 against Reading. !@#$%^&*

Blog EntryBest EPL Opener...Aug 12, '07 1:40 PM
for everyone

Arsenal met Fulham at the Emirates Stadium. Elizabeth was full with Singapore-loving-Gunners fans. It is great to be back!!

Kicked off... and what the #$%^& was Lehmann thinking???? Back pass from Clichy and Lehmann slipped, letting Healy to score a relatively easy goal barely into the 2nd minute. What a way to start off... What an example from one of the experienced players.

Gloomy

Nonetheless, the boys did not give up. Kept fighting on and it paid off when Arsenal was awarded a penalty on 84th minute after Toure's inspired run was cut by the Fulham player and he was brought down inside the area. Up came Robin van Persie and he converted it into a powerful goal straight in the middle. Elizabeth erupted! People were jumping around, hands clapped, hugs were thrown everywhere.

Still, the Gunners did not give up neither did the fans. The introduction of Bendtner caused problem with Fulham's defence. He was unfortunate not to score today. At the stroke of 90th minute, Hleb snatched a dramatic late winner and became the Hero of the Day. Once again, Elizabeth erupted! We were overjoyed!

Overjoyed!

Playing a 4-5-1 formation really suits Arsenal at the moment. Putting Hleb just behind the striker is a good strategic as he is very effective there. He is turning into a player-to-watch (as I thought he would last season!).

Next up.... away to Sparta Prague for the Champions' League qualification. I have faith in these kids. They will do well! Come on you Gunners!!

The best EPL opener has yet to be mentioned. Yup, you guessed it right. Spurs lost to the Black Cats. lol. Can you believe that Sunderland beat them 1-0? Hey Spuds... "There's only 1 team in North London" alright? So, stop dreaming Jol and Co.!

Another best piece of news... Man Yoo was held to a goalless draw by Reading. Reading was down with 10-men but Man Yoo still couldn't beat them! Chelsea.... @#$%^ they were lucky to snatch a winner, 3-2 against Birmingham City. They always get away with anything, murder even! Liverpool won 2-1 against Aston Villa. Lucky with that stunner by Gerard. Rick must be a happy man! lol

Game organised by Glenn Ong of Class 95fm. Kicked off at 10pm till midnite. Sounds like a long night ey? But it ended in a blink of an eye. What a super duper fast game.

Each team played for 2-goals or 10-mins before another team took over. I have to say that the Liverpool boys were fantastic. Though short in numbers, but they won a number of games against us. Oh well... I had fun nonetheless, giving support from far.

Ps: Thanks for the pictures Jeff!

Hleb has been great as a 2nd striker. Eboue caused mayhem on the right. Sagna fitted in perfectly into the team. Flamini and Cesc were great in the middle. Gibbs is showing a huge potential. But the real hero of the day - Robin van Persie. What a stunning goal from Van the man. With 5 minutes remaning with Arsenal needing a goal to win the Cup, RvP came to the rescue.

Robin van Persie celebrating his winning goal

Everyone worked their socks off. These boys deserved to win this first Emirates Cup. With the 2 games, I am impressed! I am so very excited for the boys in the upcoming season.

Who needs Henry?

Oh no!! Definitely not a result I want to see. But oh well, it's just a friendly anyway. Most important were.... almost our strongest 11 started the game, everyone got a chance to play by the 90th min. And from the match report that I read, the boys seem to be playing well only to be distracted with so many substitutions that perhaps they lost their concentration and conceded the goal.

Bring on the Emirates Cup!

30th June 2007 - Finally.... The Last Goodbye to our beloved National Stadium. The match to grace the closing ceremony - Singapore 0 - 3 Australia. Hey, it is the World Cup team you are talking about.

Nevertheless, Singapore played quite a good game during the 1st Half. They had a couple of close chances that hit the bar and the post. Unfortunately, too many substitutions in the 2nd half spoiled the tempo of the game for the Lions. Goals were scored by Mark Viduka (2) and Harry Kewell (hoooraaayyy!! Boo hoo to my friend who is a Pool fan but not a Kewell fan).

After the game, there was a 30min special closing ceremony hosted by Brian and Mark Richmond, going through the sweet memories that happened at the National Stadium. Hey, I have my own memories at the stadium. Too many to mention.

The night was completed with the fireworks (though I was a disappointed with the little fireworks). But at least, I can proudly say... "I WAS THERE"

Ps: Pics quality are from my N6280, what do you expect heh?

Thierry Henry

......The Arsenal talisman will be moving on. Thierry Henry has signed a 4-year deal with Barcelona for GBP16m which I think is an insult for one of the world's best player. We should have really pressed Barca for more money or in part-exchange for E'to. Oh well.....

How will Arsenal cope next season? Who will be our new Captain? What will be the new direction for the Arsenal now? There are just too many questions playing in everyone's head - mine included. Too many speculations being said everywhere.

Que Sera Sera. Whatever will be, will be. Do not fret, at the end of the day "Arsene Knows". Whatever happens, I am still a Hardcore Gooner. Always will be.

To Henry... Wishing you all the best. Thank you for all that you have done to the Club. I will never forget your "lob-over-Barthez-head" goal. That was classic!

You will be sorely missed by all...

Thanks to the organisers and everyone who came and swung by with their food and stuff. It was a fun night for us to gather outside Elizabeth for once. We had so much yummy food! Hope the leftovers were cleanly cleared up by those who stayed back.

For those who did not turn up or come, shame on you. You missed the fun.

Till next gathering!

Ps: Many thanks to Kevin aka Sggooner aka Mr Blog for these pictures. :)

Blog EntryHAPPY BIRTHDAY DUTCHMAN!!!May 10, '07 11:00 AM
for everyone

Today marks the 38th birthday of my Dutch hero, Dennis Bergkamp. He is an Arsenal Legend. He has since retired and taking a break at my place...

I have the pleasure to watch the man himself in action many times at Highbury as well as the Emirates for his testimonial match. Yes, I flew exclusively to bid him farewell from football scene. It was a sad day but hey.. football life indeed a short one. There will be no 2nd Bergkamp. You cannot find a replacement like the Iceman. He is a rare gem and a master in his field. Arsenal was lucky to have him with the Club. Great thanks to Bruce Rioch who brought him in.

I would like to wish him a very Happy Birthday and may he excel in what he shall decide to do with his life in later years. I hope he will return to the Arsenal some day and work with the kids.

To all Bergkamp's fan, here are some pictures. Enjoy.
