Aleena, Shirley, Linette and I flew to Jakarta for our dearest ex-colleague's - Alvin Leonardis Widjaja - wedding. Since the wedding did not happen till on the 9th, we travelled up to Bandung (with 6 others) for the day for none other than SHOPPING!! It was truly heaven. Things are very cheap and are of good quality. We totally shopped like there was no tomorrow.

Along the way, we stopped at bakeries to get our "brownies" as well as "kek lapis". I was told that these can only be found in Bandung and highly recommended as they tasted good. Each one of us ended up buying loads of them!!

Bandung is still as nice as I remembered. It is slightly cooler compared to polluted Jakarta though not as cold as few years ago when I was last there. Nevertheless, still better than Singapore. It is a very nice city and about 2hrs drive away from the capital. We had a very good driver that got us to and fro with not much hassle.

Before we headed back to Jakarta, we went to the Peak... a very cool restaurant in Bandung, somewhere up there on the mountain. Nice ambience and very cosy. Coincidentally, Hendry's birthday fell on the same day so we bought a decent size cake for him and he did the honour of feeding a pinch of the cake to all of us.

End of dinner, it was already late and we still had a couple of hours to drive back to our hotel. I did not remember what happened afterwards as I had fallen asleep at the back of the car.
